In May of 2005, Mike Adamo of Fishersville, Virginia envisioned a magazine that would fill a void in business communications throughout the Virginia localities of Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro. Businesses that wanted to reach other businesses in the area had no independent medium to achieve their objective.
In July of 2005, just two months later, CROSSROADS BUSINESS MAGAZINE was born. The premiere issue was the size of a handbook and black and white throughout. It was mailed in pink 6 by 9 envelopes to a list of business recipients. Substantial feedback ensued. Readers said it was a nice “little brochure” and asked, “why no color”?
Mike listened and the second quarterly issue of CROSSROADS was the size of a traditional magazine. He also added red to about half of the pages and mailed it without an envelope by ink jetting addresses right onto the front cover.
The fourth quarterly issue was a milestone. The Spring 2006 Edition featured full color throughout. There was no turning back.
Mike received the 2007 “Entrepreneurial Spirit” Award from the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Crossroads Business Magazine became the the official business magazine of the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce in the Fall of 2009.
